Rooms and Facilities
We welcome international and national travellers for business or leisure.
Most of our guests include: social upliftment groups, humanitarian aid groups, research groups, church groups and touring groups.
We welcome you all! Come and make use of our accommodation facility.
Each cottage has two bedrooms, shared shower and toilet, dining area, patio overlooking the lake.
- Sleeps 6 people. It has two bedrooms, one with double bed and one with double and ¾ bed.
- Sharing a private toilet and shower.
- There is a small dining area with basin, cutlery, crockery mainly for making coffee/tea.
- No cooking is allowed in the cottages but breakfast and dinner can be ordered from the local host at extra cost.
- Sleeps 6 people. It has two bedrooms, one with 3 x single beds in each room.
- Sharing a private toilet and shower.
- There is a small dining area with zink, cutlery, crockery mainly for making coffee/tea.
- No cooking is allowed in the cottages but breakfast and dinner can be ordered from the local host at extra cost.

Please note that the cottages are situated off shore about 300 meter from the Lake shore located on a hill overseeing the Lake. Guests are welcome to walk down to the Lake.
There is no hot water for the showers and we rely on solar sun heating. Malawi is called the warm heart of Africa and the sunny weather caused little need for hot water.
The windows are fitted with mosquito screens, beds with mosquito nets, but guests must remember to bring mosquito repellent/spray for your rooms.
Host can make hot water on request for bathing.
We suggest that guests must have their own transport as the nearest transport pick up is about 2km from the cottages on the main road M10 going to Monkey Bay which is 10km from Gateway.
Local transport is private car taxi’s, bicycle taxi or motor bike taxi. Local transport is available to Cape Maclear, Monkey Bay and Mangochi.
